I am originally from northern California, but I have lived in North Carolina for over 25 years now. Our six children are all grown up--we have 4 girls and two boys. Our youngest two are twin girls. All but one of our kids live in the Raleigh area; our oldest daughter lives in San Francisco, California. My husband's name is David and he works for Duke Corporate Education in Durham as a contracting manager. That is funny in a way, because like Mrs. Miller he went to school at UNC-Chapel Hill so he always roots for light blue.
Since I love children so much I decided 11 years ago to become a Teacher Assistant. I was at York Elementary before, then I got an opportunity to come to Sycamore Creek and it is a great place to be. Early in my TA career, I worked with special needs children, and then I got the chance to join Mrs. Miller. She is a pleasure to work with, and all of the Crocs here at Sycamore Creek definitely rock--especially our kindergartners.
In my spare time, my husband and I are very involved in missions work. We took a trip to both China and Kenya last year. In addition to traveling overseas, we work locally with a ministry serving a homeless population in the Garner area. We are very excited to see what God has in store for us next as He continues to make new opportunities available.
My hobbies are gardening and reading. I like to take long, hot baths to relax, and I really enjoy a good cup of coffee as long as I have lots of French vanilla creamer to go with it.
